HGTV has done a fantastic job inspiring us to take on home renovation projects, and the fact that over 50% of all homes in America were built before 1980 makes the need to update or remodel a given for many of us.
The reality is that those fun-to-watch shows that provide all the inspiration and cause us to dream about our beautiful spaces do not always accurately depict the renovation experience. Home renovations often come with unexpected challenges and frustrating setbacks, especially if you don't do your due diligence in hiring a good contractor.

NDR provided me with a written and detailed scope of the renovation to be done, an estimated timeline of each phase and a cost schedule - there were no surprises besides a few that were unavoidable once the project was started and the guts of the MB were exposed. We have gone from an 80's pink and cream busy bathroom to a calm, relaxing spa with muted tones. I had North Dallas Renovations, remodel my bathroom. They enlarged my small shower, added subway tiles and new shower floor tiles in the bathroom. They replaced the small vanity with a larger one, new hardware, mirror, sink, shower, and sink faucets. They added a new toilet. They rerouted the bathroom vent to the outside. They replaced the original bathroom door and added a pocket door. Lastly, they painted the walls and removed the popcorn ceiling. They smoothed ceilings and walls in the bathroom. They also added a recessed light in the hallway and painted walls and remove the popcorn ceiling. They also refreshed the hallway closet after reclaiming a portion of it for the enlarged shower. I was more than satisfied with the work.
Kyle, Brady and his crew were professional, prompt and responsive. Master bath and kitchen updates look fantastic. No remodel project goes 100% smoothly, but their number one priority is your satisfaction. I've already requested their help on another project. Can never go wrong hiring great people who truly care. Highly recommend.
Kyle and his team did an awesome job for us. We did a major renovation on the first floor of our house; laundry room, bath, dining room, kitchen and den. We oped up walls, removed fur downs that hid lots of unexpected pipes, a/c and plumbing and took everything to stubs. It did take longer than we hoped and we lived in chaos for awhile. On top of that it was a pandemic and we were all home, so I expected the worse but it went relatively smoothly. When things weren't right, Kyle made sure they done to our satisfaction and we are thrilled with the results!
This is a fabulous company. I will be using their services exclusively from this point forward. We remodeled our kitchen (1928 house) and found lots of issues, but none of them were overwhelming thanks to Kyle and his crew. I went from Oh, no to OMG - Wow! I now have a dream kitchen. Didn't really think it would be this wonderful. The crew of workers are true artisans who truly care about doing a great job...not just a "get it done" mentality.

Our scope of work - we were wanting our ceiling renovated. We live in an old church. The original ceiling is wood planks but it has been covered for many years by ugly sheet rock. We wanted the sheet rock and all the nails removed, non-functional fluorescent light fixtures and another chandelier removed, ceiling cleaned and the spaces between planks caulked, new gas/electrical lines run for a new HVAC system we are going to have installed and new lighting installed.
Kyle answered our request for a bid very promptly. Within the week, he sent a text and scheduled an appointment to come and bid our project. He came to our house, we described the work we wanted done, he made notes and then let us know he would be in contact. The next week his company sent an email with information detailing their company and processes. The next day our bid was worked and attached to an email. The bid was detailed and to our satisfaction. NDR sent another email letting us know when a crew could come and start the work. We scheduled quickly. The next day, the crew was here with a supervisor. I described the work we were wanting done to the crew and they immediately began work.
The crew, Byron and Victor, were professional, courteous and respectful of our property. There was another gentleman that came to help on the 3rd and 4th days but I do not remember his name. He was just as professional as the other gentlemen. The job was big and tedious. Byron needed to replace a couple of places on the ceiling that were rotten and he did some carpentry magic. We were quite pleased with the patches. They blended right in with the aesthetic of the ceiling. Never once did I have any doubts that they knew what they were doing. It took four days. The crew did an amazing job under not so fun/glamorous conditions. At the end of every day, they cleaned up the area as was reasonable to the scope of work. The finished project was just as we envisioned. Brady, came at the end of the day on the last day with a large trailer and helped load and break down the work area. It was a hot and humid day and I did not envy them.
We believe the price was fair, the quality of work worth every penny and they met the deadlines.
We have other future renovation/remodeling projects coming up in the future and we will be contacting NDR to do those projects for us. I would recommend NDR to anyone looking for a trustworthy company to come into your home and do the job you want. Please note that the photos I have posted include our house in chaos. It is a work-in-progress.

Kyle Smith and his team did my complete bathroom tear-out and remodel. Very professional and gave us exactly what we wanted! Tore out garden tub, window, shower, cabinets, faucets, floor and old shower. Installed large shower, glass block window, all new sinks and faucets, granite countertops, cabinets, tile floor and lighting. Always on time, made minor changes we wanted and charged a reasonable and fair price. I did have a total of 4 bids and Kyle was the contractor that listened to exactly what we wanted. Just about every area of my home needed something repaired or upgraded. Framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, tile work, shower glass, granite, lighting, resurfacing and painting, staining, and during a mid-project emergency, rebuilding the exterior chimney surround. From my initial consultation with Kyle, I knew he was the one to tackle the job. Great communication, attentive to what I was trying to accomplish within budget, offered great ideas and sources. Such an incredibly wonderful crew... knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and truly just really nice. Set the tone for the whole project. With weeks of work (it was a long list!), it could have been tense and stressful. It was the exact opposite. There were quite a few times when I noticed they went above and beyond the task, going outside the scope to make sure an area was perfect. Had I known what a positive experience it would be, I would not have put it off for so long. Highest recommendation.
This is my second project Kyle and North Dallas Renovations has done for me this year. He and his team recently painted an investment property for me and the work is exemplary. Definitely 5 stars to Kyle and crew. We are very happy with our master bath renovation with North Dallas Renovations. We must’ve taken around 10 different quotes from a chuck in truck to the brick and mortar remodeling show rooms. Apart from Kyle’s quote being competitive we just really liked his attitude and sincerity. We had some apprehensions given they are relatively new in the business but we are glad we chose them. Things we value in working with remodeling contractor is communication, sticking closed to estimated schedule, efficient project management, and good crew. Full marks on all fronts - all mails and text were always responded to efficiently, work was done within stipulated time, we never had to follow up with anyone individually, everyone showed up on time and best part is Kyle’s work crew is amazing - friendly, courteous, hard working (they stayed late many days finishing what they wanted to accomplish in a day) , cleaned up after every work day, and of course most importantly knew what they were doing - you can tell they have the experience. We never hesitated leaving the house with them to run small or long errands. Kyle gave us recommendations on where we can look for tiles, bath hardware and other accessories. Kyle and his team at North Dallas Renovations went above and beyond to help me renovate my “fixer upper” into the home I’d always wanted.
My project, which completed in February 2018, included installing new wood and tile floors and baseboards throughout the house; renovating two bathrooms (including removing wallpaper and texturing walls); installing granite countertops, sink, faucet, disposal, and backsplash in the kitchen; installing a new back door and siding; and refinishing stairs, front door, and cabinetry.
Kyle's pricing was fair, and he scheduled work to complete as quickly and smoothly as possible. Throughout the process, I came to rely on Kyle’s patience, honesty, and sound advice. Several times, I found myself rethinking design choices I had made, and Kyle was quick to adapt, helping me select products and finishes that would complement the house.

Decided to replace counters and backsplash in our house we had recently purchased. Kyle was very professional and detail oriented. His team did a fantastic job both with demolition and installation. Picked an intricate backsplash and the tile installer did a phenomenal job.
Not the cheapest nor the most expensive but their work is outstanding. Recommended to our realtor and neighbors. Definitely would use again!
North Dallas Renovations did a total update on our home. We were in a time pinch to move in so they worked non stop to get it done. They painted all walls cabinets and doors; renovated 2 bathrooms, (1 with a total floor plan change); replaced multiple light fixtures; opened up some doorways; closed some doorways and did the demo and finish work on our kitchen remodel.
Kyle is very patient and worked with me when decisions were needed. They did a great job throughout. I will use them again.
Their pricing was fair and transparent. Every item on the proposal was broken out and I was even able to purchase some items that he then removed from the invoice. Kyle has vendor relationships which result in great pricing for many big ticket items like granite.
Since ours was a big job, it took several weeks. Kyle was very good about giving me updates and quoting me price changes with each change order (and there were many).

He and his team did an excellent job helping us remodel two bathrooms and all flooring after a water leak. Kyle and his team made the renovation process as easy as possible and we asked for a lot - everything from new floors to new countertops to 3 built-ins (entertainment center, wine bar and an office desk and shelves). All renovations uproot your life but they made it more bearable. His team was always on time and worked all hours to meet the deadline. Would have gave 10 stars if I could. Kyle and his team did an amazing job renovating my townhouse from top to bottom. everything was done on time, including my endless requests and changes.
I did a compete renovation including taking out old carpets and flooring and installing new laminate floors through out the house and tile floor in the bathrooms, a complete remodeling of the kitchen, new appliances, paint through out the whole house, installation of new vanities and wall tile in the bathrooms. everything was done exactly as I envisioned it.

We feel so lucky to have met and hired Kyle Smith with North Dallas Renovations! Kyle is so likeable and really helped us decide what we needed within our budget. The work we had done (popcorn removal; painting; reframing exterior; back patio redesign) is incredible and perfect! His team is easy to talk with and very professional. Most importantly, every single person was so sweet to my dogs which was rather helpful and quite unexpected! In fact, we are so happy we are about to hire him for more painting.
We hired Kyle and his team to renovate our kitchen, install wood floor and tile throughout the downstairs, paint several rooms, and set up a media room with a projector and screen.
Given our project we wanted a one-stop-shop and that's what we got. Every step of the process was clear and Kyle was in constant contact with updates, options, and timescales. The quote was fully transparent - no other firm who quoted us were clear with their pricing and some appeared to deliberately disguise the cost of things.
The crew were all nice guys, very polite and would clean up at the end of each day.

Kyle and Team did a great job renovating my kitchen, master bath, guest bath and bedroom. The work was top quality and they finished on time and on budget. They had a sense of urgency and on the second day i saw six contractors in the house that did most of the demo and painting in one day - absolutely transformed the rooms.
Kyle is also very patient and knowledgeable especially when we couldnt make up our mind about Granite or Quartz. We ended up going with Quartz from his recommended supplier (Galaxy Granite) that was thousands less than Costco quote.
All in all a very professional experience - the contractors were experienced and flexible and even incorporated a few changes we sprung on them when the work started.
Kyle and his employees were excellent to work with, they were very polite and friendly. They completed an entire home renovation within the timeframe discussed and everything was beautiful when done. I had new granite installed in both bathrooms and kitchen. Outside and inside painted. New flooring throughout entire house. New lighting, new appliances, bathroom showers/tubs refinished. There weren't very many areas that went untouched. He coordinated all of the work needed which makes for a very pleasant and stress fee renovation. There were also a few unknowns like the granite in the kitchen being too heavy for bar. His team had to build a wall to hold the counter top. Finished product was beautiful.
Kyle and his team were intensely focused on providing quality work and didn't rest until we were totally satisfied. We had some tough projects and they did phenomenal! They also were extremely respectful and cleaned up any work space even better than when they arrived. I will recommend them to everyone and will call on them again.

Kyle and his team are A+. I had the team of Brandon (project manager), Feliciano (foreman), and Ever as Painter lead. All are perfectionists and when a problem pops up (as they will with an older home like mine) they come up with a solution and actually get back to you a.s.a.p. if you call. Brandon was very hands on with the project checking in daily, and answering phone fast if off site. I would request Ever again, for sure, he is a perfectionist, as am I (I am quite picky). The quality control is good and they check most things on their own, but if something is missed and you request a look, they fix it fast. Feliciano fixed things not on the list like leveling my doors... He is awesome. I was treated with respect as was my house. We contracted North Dallas Renovations to remodel our kitchen. Kyle and Kim were great in the planning stages of the project helping us define the scope of the changes and working through the details. The project manager, Brandon, was always open to discuss the progress and work out solutions to the minor issues that popped up.When there was a problem with the stone for our countertops and we had to scramble to find a replacement. Brandon went above and beyond working with suppliers and the fabricator to find alternatives. As we were out looking for a new slab, we ran into another NDR employee, Destiny, who was out working for another job but immediately offered to help out and let us know if she found anything for us as she was working on her other project.It's that kind of team work that makes North Dallas Renovations a great company to work with. We will definitely go to them first for our next project.
With help of Kyle & his awesome crew, went from super small shower to huge gorgeous shower and master bath transformation. They also updated our counters, backsplash, flooring in kitchen. Things don't always go smoothly or work on your timeframe, but Kyle cares about your happiness, the quality of work and finished product so he ensures you'll have the best outcome. Love our updates! Amazing work! Very friendly, professional, and hardworking team. Kyle and his team did a bottom floor/kitchen remodel in Jan 2021, a Jack&Jill bathroom remodel in July 2021, and painted two bedrooms/stained the stairwell in Dec 2021. Kyle Smith and his team did an excellent job remodeling our upstairs bathroom. They were always on time and professional. They refinished our bathtub and made it look brand-new. They re-tile the shower and the floor. They installed new fixtures, a new vanity, and a new sink. We are very happy with their work!! We plan to use them again in the future.
Kyle and his crew rebuilt our pantry and repaired multiple areas damaged by our burst fire sprinkler system this winter. Very professional and customer centric from ownership to crew. Punctual. Cleaned up well. A pleasure to do business with.

Complete Home Remodel - Very pleasant experience dealing with honest, straightforward, and open communications. Contractor provided numerous cost-effective and ergonomic suggestions resulting in absolute 1st class quality and appearance throughout. Friendly crew, always on time, and willing to make any minor change requested. Regular presence by company owner insured quality and timeliness of finished product. The onsite supervisor was simply outstanding.
